NGO stands for Non-Governmental orgnization. These groups do wide variety of projects that is usually done by the government, but these group are not necessarily a part of the government.

Examples of NGOs are:

- The Red Cross , which works to provide medical help to protect human lives and alleviate suffering. Most of its job is conducted to help injured people in war zones.

- Greenpeace , which works to protect the environment from man-made destruction

- Oxfam , which works to alleviate poverty all around the world.

Since these NGOs could choose their own cause, they are considere dto be indpenedent, diverse, and flexible. They also have huge plitical influence since they can act as itnerest groups.
