At age 75, Martha is typical of people her age. She believes that when compared to others of the same age, she is doing good/well but they have more problems and they are self-absorbed people.
It doesn't means that Martha had a perfect life, she also had problems but she compared herself to other people of her age and she realized they are more narcissistic and she is not.
