Utopian socialists were the first to react tothe Industrial Revolution, their thoughts were mostly expressed by Saint Simon, Charles Fourier and Robert Owen.

Among others, they believed people steming from all classes would benefit the most from the technological shift that arrived in the 1800s.

Their plan for society is to distribute wealth equally among all. They did not desire to change basic political and economic systems.

They believe hard work with technology will make a new society to emerge, where a public ownership of wealth will result in economic freedom and autonomy.

The basic and crucial difference they have with communist in the way that the transformation should be carried, since the marxist believe that violent  actions are neccesary throught the means of revolution.

Revolution would in turn destroy the initial conditions seeking radical changes.
