We have three forces acting on an object (Figure 2), A⃗ at 30 ∘ above the + x axis, B⃗ at 60 ∘ above the – x axis, and C⃗ along the – y axis. If we want to find the net (or total) force along each axis, we would have to break forces A⃗ and B⃗ into x and y components.
