PERTINENT HISTORY: The patient is a 31-year old white female admitted from my office because of increasing abdominal pain. The patient is gravida II, para II. The pain has been present for the last 6 months, occurring more severely the day before the onset of menses. The pain radiated down her back, vagina, and her lower abdomen.
HOSPITAL COURSE:
Pelvis exam revealed generalized tenderness. A laparoscopy revealed endometriosis of pelvic peritoneum. The patient was counseled as to available treatment options, which include hormonal therapy, surgical resection, or electrocautery. After pain management, she was discharded in 1 day. She wishes to discuss the treatment options with her husband.
