In order to engage in the practice of funeral directing or embalming in North Carolina, the licensee must own the funeral home, be employed by a funeral home, or be an agent of the funeral home, or:
a. Be employed by a college of mortuary science.
b. Hold a valid driver's license in the state of North Carolina.
c. Have a background in event planning or hospitality management.
d. Successfully complete a course in culinary arts.
