Prima Facie Speed Limits
While the Basic Speed Rule states that you always must drive at a reasonable and prudent speed, your speed should never exceed the posted speed limit or the prima facie speed limit. Prima facie speed limits are in effect whenever there is no other speed posted.
A. Drivers are allowed to exceed prima facie speed limits if they feel it is safe.
B. Prima facie speed limits are only guidelines and not enforceable.
C. Speed limits are always posted and override prima facie limits.
D. Prima facie speed limits apply in the absence of other posted limits.
