a tree that is 13 feet tall is growing at a rate of 4 feet each year. A different tree that is 27 feet tall is growing at a rate of 1/2 feet each year. At this rate, when will the trees be the same height? What will the height of the trees be?

subtract ½t from both sides

13+3½t = 27

subtract 13 from both sides

t = 14÷(3½) = 14÷(7/2) = 14× (2/7) = 4
